cool dude

Trennon is getting quite the personality. Just like most babies I know, he thinks he can do anything. He gets around the house with ease and pulls himself up on everything. And he does it all with style.

Baby proofing is so much fun. We are learning a lot about our house.

His plank or push up. This kid is way more in shape than me.
Sometimes he thinks he is a model. Looking off into the distance is his favorite pose.

WAY back in April we took our first long road trip with little Trennon. We decided it was time to visit Durango and everybody told me that April was a great time to see spring in the mountains. The long, long drive was not as bad as I anticipated it to be with a baby. He slept and kept himself entertained for most of the trip. I know, I have the best baby in the world. Once we got there we partied non-stop. Jared and I toured downtown Durango, we all went to the Anasazi ruins, shopping, dinner with family, and the hot tub. It was so much fun spending time with Jared's parents. Trennon loves his grandparents so much. He could live with either set and be completely happy. Mostly because he is so spoiled!
This is one of my favorite photos. I need to get it framed!

So many families lived back in those caves. Not much personal space but it looked like a pretty great way to avoid the storms and the heat.
Tammie stayed back and watched Tren while we explored, until a strange ranger came to talk to her.
Underground. It was really neat down there. It was very small but would keep things cool.
Getting ready for the hot tub.
At first he didn't know if he liked it. He kept looking at Jared to see if everything was still okay.
And then he started soaking it all in. Floating and splashing and having fun!

the love of a grandma

I have been procrastinating updating my blog for many lazy reasons but there is no excuse good enough to put off this. My wonderful grandmother passed away last week. It was something I was ready for and had been praying for since she was so sick but the loss of such a special person is something that affects you in ways you never would have thought. I have reflected a lot about all the memories I have of her: her candy machine, her love of music, how she always encouraged me in everything I did, and all the warm blankets and beautiful doilies she made me. Every time we had a planned visit my father would tell us to put together a song for Grandma so she could hear our talents. There were many times that I did not play well or my singing wasn't perfect but she always loved it. Even if her praise was followed by a smile and "just keep practicing".
The funeral was so beautiful. Every word that was said and every song performed was so perfectly centered around Grandma Bingham. You could really tell how loved this woman is. She lived a life where she put others first and every life she touched was made better. When you talked to her you knew you were her family, her legacy, her pride and joy, and she loved you very much. I am so happy that I know she is now in paradise with my Heavenly Father, serving and loving even more people.
As one last tribute  we were able to perform one of her favorite songs at her request, My Heavenly Father Loves Me. We recorded this before the funeral because we knew the actual performance would be a little more tear-filled. I can't think of a better way to honor my Grandma.

first Easter

We had a very simple Easter this year. Saturday was a neighborhood egg hunt. We threw some eggs out and watched all the kids from the front steps. It was really fun and we can't wait for Tren to do it next year. Sunday was all about church and enjoying the wonderful spirit of the day. Tren looked so good in his Easter outfit. We have one handsome baby!

When bedtime comes around and someone isn't quite ready to sleep, this is what we find.

rolley polley

Tren has mastered the art of rolling to get to new places. He really knows what he's doing and he can be across the room in no time. I need to step up my game and get ready for this baby to be crawling because he is working on that next. Oh boy!

a boy and his kitty

The newest addition to our family is Carlo. He is a very spunky kitten that knows just how to drive us crazy. But is is really fun and loves to play. His favorite game is hiding under the bed and jumping out at innocent passersby. Tren doesn't get to play with Carlo too much yet because I don't want Tren to get scratched or bit in the excitement. But if Tren is sleeping, as soon as I turn my back Carlo is sprawled out next to him.
When Cody and Liz came for a visit, Oliver could not leave Carlo alone. He loved that cat and wanted to play with him so much. Carlo wasn't as enthusiastic but he was very good with the boys and endured being carried around while he wasn't looking for places to hide.

One day Carlo crawled under Tren's play mat while Tren was playing on it. That crazy cat just likes to be in the action.
